They misspelled the name on my order, which resulted in the package being sent back. I paid a lot for international shipping. It has been 4 months. No matter how often I contact the support, they wont message me back... I lost almost 100 Euros thanks to a typo by Build A Bear.
I send my son’s pup on Jan 4, 2020 to build a bear hospital since our pup had severe wear and tear. I was informed it takes up to 3 month by store staff. My son was tearing saying good by to his pup since he never slept without him one night since he got that pup. Then COVID hit. I was telling him it will take long since this is unusual situation. He waited patiently for 8 month. I send many emails to the company try to find out where our pup is and never hear from them. Store try to email for us but no reply from head office. Then I got the phone call from store on Aug 25, 2020 our pup is back without repair because our pup did not meetings sanitation standard for repair. I consulted store staff if I need to wash it before I send and store staff did not think we need to. How could a company take a stuffy away from little child for 8 month, ignore emails from us and store, kept in unsanitary condition in their warehouse for 8 month and give it back to us without a repair? When I told my son our bears are back without a repair, he run into the bed cover himself with the blanket and cried. I felt so bad. I told him bright side is our pups are safely back to our house. Local store staff were nice but I was very disappointed in head office customer service.

I ordered a Stuffed Red Raptor with personalised voice recording on 30 April 2021. I had constant communication from BaBW tracking my dino, aswell as dispatch date. Item was in good received in good condition, on 5 May, with the birth certificate as ordered. My great nephew was bowled over with his talking dino, and listens to it constantly! Best gift ever! Thanks Build-a-Bear, UK!
Shocked to hear about other peoples negative experiences with B-A-B. I ordered a gift online for my friend's child and I had an issue with my order. I got in touch with customer services and they replied very promptly and politely, resolving my issue at first contact. Maybe I got lucky here, but personally I was impressed with their customer service.
I ordered two of the Animal Crossing Isabelle animals on 4/6/2021. I received them on 4/17/2021. Their process of packaging the items is unacceptable and extremely tacky! Both Isabelle's were just thrown in the large box, along with two birth certificates and one foundation flyer. I took photos of how they arrived. No invoice, no protective wrapping on the Animals, the paperwork was bent and printed upside down on BOTH certificates! I guess customer (and animal) care is not a priority. I will not order from their online website again due to lack of customer service/appreciation and terrible delivery packaging.
Horrible delivery service, and this has nothing to do with fedex and usps! I ordered my bear as a promotion gift to a friend on the early morning of March 5,2021.... build a bear was supposedly done making it by the 12 and shipped it via SmartPost... this is the cheapest way to send mail! USPS and Fedex work together and you as the customer have no control over your shipment... I can not change to have it dropped off at a fedex location or pick my package up from the warehouse.... for the past week they have been sending messages as if my package was in transit and then putting delivery exception... I called and complained they told me to call build a bear! Eventually I found out my package wasn’t moving and I was getting false messages.... they delayed my activities this pass weekend! Also, I paid 9.95 for shipping fee! Which is a hell of a lot for this shipment to be slow then I’m going to have to pay another shipment to send it to Charlotte because I went this past weekend thinking my order would be done in time ????
There was one red dragon left on display. We were FIRST in line and my husband went to ask an employee if we can take the one that was on display. The lady came over and nicely took it off display for us but then she rudely gave it to another family and made my son cry so we had to leave the store because he really wanted the Red dragon. He is only two so it was difficult to calm him down after that. When a two year has their heart set on something it's hard changing their mind. In my opinion that was really really rude and unprofessional. I wish we had a different experience because we came to the providence mall for the build a bear experience specifically. I could have picked something else out for my son if I really wanted to but I don't believe they deserved our service after that... PAY MORE ATTENTION TO THE CUSTOMERS THAT WERE IN LINE FIRST AND ASKED FOR HELP FIRST!
I placed a order in memory of my nephew the date was spouse to be on the bears foot i made 1 mistake on the date they clam the order is being processed it can not be changed then they said they will not accept returns on a bear that has a date on foot and we would have to re buy a new bear i spent a lot of money on this and it is bull. I will never again ever order from this place
I give 3 stars because the bears are lovely and had the tshirts I ordered, plus I ordered two and they both are well filled and looked nice. I ordered for store pick up, since covid I don’t trust delivery service and glad I did reading these reviews. My only complaint is that they put the wrong birthday song on both bears.... they have an instrumental birthday song and the other a woman sings and sounds fun. They chose the one I didn’t pick, for both bears and I was so disappointed to find out when my nephews got their present, they received this boring instrumental song and they are toddlers, the other one is lively and fun! If you order for pick up make sure you check everything before you leave because they do mess up!
Update: I contacted them on the issue the same day I posted this review and they were diligent to answer, within a day a had an email apologizing for their mistake and issuing a refund for using the wrong songs. I’m very surprised at how fast they answered my email and fixed their mistake, for that reason I’m changing my 3 star review to 5 for their excellent costumer service.
Terrible quality toy sent. The fur was cheap and nasty. Customer service wasn’t much better. I did get a free return label and eventually and a refund but they refused to refund my original postage. Not impressed! I wouldn’t order from them again.
I had ordered in November they had cancelled my order multiple time and i placed my final order and they emailed me once then didn't email me for a week cancelled my transaction and then charged me and I got my product long after my order customer service was extremely rude and didn't answer my calls I have had past experiences with build a bear that were not horrible but they have really stepped down there service
I placed a holiday order on November 26,2020. Received an email that it was shipped on 11/27 and I could check tracking in 24 hours. I checked and it said no package received with that number. Okay, I thought holiday season so gave it few days, still Fed Ex said they don't have it. Emailed Build A Bear twice on 12/2 and 12/3. No response from them either time to clarify shipping information but of course my charge was charged. It is now 12/8 and I have been on hold so far over a half an hour still trying to get an answer. I know do to pandemic everyone is down in staff but something is off with this. Ready to go get something else for my niece. How can you explain they don't get a gift when they are 3? So disappointed with their service.
So, I bought 3 Gingerbread Men (2 boys and 1 girl) and 3 cotton candy wristlets for my kids for Christmas, it was part of their gift from SANTA! Well, I received 1 boy and 1 girl with 3 cotton candy wristlets and 3 certificates... Why on earth would you send me 3 certificates if your going to rip me off and only send 2 out of 3 gingerbread men that I ordered?!?! I called customer service and she told me they no longer sell the gingerbread man because it was limited time for that short period. I politely told her that they obviously had them in stock since I was able to purchase 3 and they obviously knew I ordered 3, why else would they send 3 certificates? All she could say was she was sorry but there's nothing she can do except refund my money. That's great and all but now I am going to have 1 child that doesn't get what his brother and sister is receiving from Santa! I am beyond livid! First and last time that I'll be ordering ANYTHING from their website again! Y'all are a joke and someone who caters to kids, y'all really dropped the ball on this one and clearly on several other people, as well! But I bet you make sure YOUR (people who work for BAB) kids get their gifts, huh?!?
I ordered a build a bear online for me and my boyfriend’s one year anniversary on dec. 11. I was freaking out a little because these reviews said not to order online from the website, but I had no problems whatsoever. My build a bear was simple, a bear and a dinosaur onesie. It actually arrived earlier than the due date of when it was suppose to arrive. The only problem there was, was that they couldn’t deliver it to my house so I had to pick it up at my local post office. But that wasn’t much of a problem. Just make sure your order is simple and be sure that you want it before making any final decisions. The bear and clothing is high quality. I can’t wait to give it to my boyfriend.
